Yourope TV Special

I am delighted to announce that my blog was recently contacted by the European TV production company, Arte, who were interested in minimalists around the continent and decided to create an episode discussing the concept of minimalism. What are the chances, huh?! I was very flattered to be featured and the crew were fantastic to work with and shown a genuine interest in what I had to say. The video can, unfortunately, only be listened to in German/French but if you listen closely you can hear the conversation quite well.

If you want to watch it the link is here .

I would like to thank my former university lecturer, Martin Sandbrook, for making me consider how I interact with the world and giving me the ability to challenge the status quo. I also want to thank Francine Jay at MissMinimalist who convinced me to start up a blog. You should check out her blog now! It’s fantastic :)
It has made me incredibly happy seeing a growing number of people all over the world embracing minimalism in some shape or form and some are just learning to curb their consumerist habits. It’s nice to know that we are not alone and that people are ready to stand up against societies norms and challenge those who are in power who are feeding us the same old nonsense in advertisements from a young age. They want to make you feel like you need to keep buying this stuff so that you can be the smarter, cooler, more attractive you; well it’s a lie. The only thing that can make you feel better is to appreciate what you have and don’t let anyone make you feel like you need to conform to be accepted.

You don’t need to be what they tell you that you need to be.

You are smart.

You are cool.

You are attractive.

You are enough.
